For those of you who were able to send a letter opposing the nomination of RFK Jr. for HHS Secretary: thank you!
We have about 350 letters in now. Let’s make it an even 1000! This means contacting friends and colleagues before the sign-on deadline on Wednesday, December 18th.
As if we needed more reasons to step up our campaign, yesterday’s New York Times reports that RFK Jr.’s lawyer wants the FDA to revoke the approval of the polio vaccine and President-elect Trump and RFK Jr. are discussing ending childhood vaccination programs, according to Reuters.
We’ve drafted a letter for individuals to send to their Senators and Human Impact Partners (HIP) have offered their Action Network to facilitate getting letters out. Click here to send your letters today. Feel free to personalize your message as you’d like. We must press our elected officials now on this nomination, as the sooner doubts are raised about his candidacy the better.
In addition to the targeted letters to your Senators, we want to do a collective sign-on and garner signatures from as many individuals as possible. If you are willing and able to sign this group letter, add your info here: https://forms.gle/DwXZS2e2t2mH8W7i7 We will send this sign letter to the media on Thursday, December 19th, so please get your signed in by EOD, December 18th.
Feel free to forward this email to like-minded friends and colleagues. We know that time is of the essence for stopping this nomination, and more voices are needed across the country.
Please get in touch with Defending Public Health at defendingpublichealth@gmail.com if you have questions or concerns.
Thank you. We hope this is the first step to becoming a robust network of diverse public health voices working together in this frightening time. |
